چکیده

In this paper, we investigated a one-dimensional compactor based on a 45°-shear line technique with jogs insertion for a cell layout. The compactor can be connected off line from current commercial layout tools, such as Tanner Pro’s L-Edit, Cadence’s Virtuoso or Springsoft’s Laker, using the CIF format. A data structure of edge-linked adjacent matrix is constructed for easy implementation in our compaction algorithm. The algorithm is very efficient and its time complexity is O(N). Experimental examples show that the area savings are up to 43.8% and 49.1%, on average, using 0.5μm and 0.18μm technology files, respectively. All layout results restored to commercial tools are also verified correct.

Conditions for compaction and shear bands in a transversely isotropic material q

This paper derives conditions for localized deformation for a transversely isotropic constitutive relation intended to model the response of geological materials in the axisymmetric compression test. The analysis considers the possibility of shear bands, with dilation or compaction, and pure compaction bands. The latter are planar zones of localized pure compressive deformation (without shear) ...

Investigation of Shear Strength Anisotropy of c- &phi Soils

Cohesive-frictional soils are widely used in the construction of embankment structures and due to the method of construction, i.e. applying compactive efforts in the vertical direction in these cases, the occurrence of anisotropy in the soil strength and permeability seems to be inevitable. In this study, attempts have been made to evaluate the shear strength of c-f soils through modifying a l...

Geometrical Aspects During Formation of Compact Aggregates of Red Blood Cells

In the past forty years considerable progress has been achieved on the knowledge of human blood as a non-Newtonian shear-thinning suspension, whose initial state, that is at rest (stasis) or at very low shear rates, has a gel-like internal structure which is destroyed as shear stress increases. The main goal of this communication is to describe the role of geometrical aspects during RBC (red bl...

Granule Strength Determination and Compactibility of Granules of Varying Density

Purpose: As in-line process analytics are becoming more widely accepted, it is important to illustrate that a measurement of interest will provide the expected outcome if that control point has reached a desired level. This methodology is especially true for novel applications. The purpose of this work was to investigate the role of densification during high shear granulation and the resulting ...
